Glad the site is back up and still looking great. Now to my post. After looking at the map of the 2010 season. I am thinking about making a trip north west come Feb. Like only 4 mo away. So maybe follow the growing from the west the back east back to Wi. Any good ideas on where to start in Wa? Oh and MK think about making it up here from Mo to the Morel fest we have in may each year.

Yes playing in ones backyard is fine! But the real challenge is to find them in a different Habitat Is what I find so Well Bad Ass I can find Morels here all day! But too find them in Texas then Oklahoma and so On! This year I will hunt Canada Maybe even fire burns this next year! I really want to go out west and Hammer some Hedgehogs! Well I'm a dreamer will just have to see how the spores fall!

Not sure how the Morel topic came up but I agree with Tom. Going to hunt in Texas was the most amazing kind of time travel, and of course the Morel season was not so good here last year so getting my fill in Texas was definitely worth while. Nothing like Morels growing next to cactus!! Of course, then there was the first year Tom and I hunted together and caught the later seasons north of here all the way to Minnesota. That was life changing! See how happy Lamont looks!@#

It was fun in Texas MORELIN!!!!!!!! Had a blast for sure and yeah Kevin I was smiling my ass off when we got that bottem land all to ourselves!!!! Got it all set up again for this season. I heard a rumor from the locals in Texas that people thought we were cooking drugs from the mushrooms we were finding. Of course, I'm not surprised based on the appearance of our crew most mornings!! Here are some of the crew including TMK, RJ, Flattop, Pickup and Slim. Anyway, I also met JBird in Texas for the first time last Spring. Most people down there seemed to have no idea what they or we were sitting on!@#$%&* You've gotta zoom in on this one to understand.....heee...heeee...

Morels in Fl? I went down to Panama city beach last Apr and was asking a game officer where I could find some Morels. he had no idea when I tiold him it was a wild mushroom. He said I should not pick things like that cause I could go to jail if caught with them. LOL But I'm down for a tagalong in Fl morelin
It appears I am going to be in the chicago area at the end of May ( 21nd - 25th)for the NRA show, I am guessing it is still morel season around then. would that be correct? If so does anybody have any information about that area that may be helpful?

2011 is fast aproaching! KCRM I plan on taking off work on Thursdays during last 2 weeks of april and first 2 weeks of may. so maybe we can get some more hunts in this year.

I've got the fever as well! With my creek being froze and to cold to do anything else, I've been visiting some of my best areas machete in hand to remove some nuisance limbs and what not. Gonna be an easy walk in 2011!

I think that messed our season cause the norm weeks were slim pickens. Drop me a line if you get there a day or two before the NRA show maybe we can meet up some place an go out hunting for them. Our season is mainly the mo of May.

yes indeed kooky and quirky. But I take morel huntin pretty serious, they bring the highest preice per # than all the others in this area and that pays for my hunting trips.
